Footpath walks are organised on the third Wednesday of each month, usually from Kersey, but occasionally elsewhere and usually in conjunction with a pub meal. Details are published in the Kersey Newsletter.  The objectives of our walks are:

  • To enjoy and become familiar with paths in the area.
  • To keep the paths in use.
  • To take sociable exercise.
  • To continue liaison with the Parish Council on problems regarding footpaths.

Kersey Footpath Working Group

In the 1980’s a group of volunteers and Parish Councillors combined informally with the aim of ensuring all the footpaths in Kersey are in good walking condition. Now a working group of the Parish Council the volunteers meet 3 times a year to co-ordinate maintenance and mowing of the paths as necessary. The group also liaise with landowners and Suffolk County Council who has ultimate responsibility for footpaths. Anyone interested in helping to maintain our network of footpaths, with Parish Council owned robust equipment, would be welcomed.
